HID Global acquires RFID manufacturer ACURA


HID Global announced the acquisition of ACURA, a Brazilian MANUFACTURER and distributor of RFID hardware.HID Global’s acquisition strengthens its RFID portfolio while expanding its relevance in Latin America.

The addition of ACURA adds to HID’s business and manufacturing footprint in Brazil, underscoring the company’s commitment to consolidating its presence in key markets.

ACURA was founded in the late 1990s and quickly became Brazil’s leading manufacturer and distributor of RFID hardware products for enterprise, industrial, logistics, transportation and retail applications, ser large customers such as Ambev, Cargill, Sensormatic/JCI, Nike/Centauro, Fleetcor/Sem Parar, Mercedes Benz, Honda Motors, HP, ArcelorMittal and Vale SA provide services.

As the RFID market in Latin America continues to grow, the acquisition will allow customers to be a one-stop shop for RFID components and products locally. The company’s product portfolio includes low frequency, high frequency and UHF RFID readers, as well as tags, antennas, biometric terminals and printers.
