The China Academy of Telecommunication Research has successfully completed laboratory technology tests of domestic 50G-PON equipment from a number of domestic mainstream equipment manufacturers, focusing on verifying the uplink dual-rate reception and multi-service carrying capacity.
50G-PON technology has been in the small-scale application verification stage, facing the future commercial scale, the domestic industry is solving the upstream multi-rate reception, 32dB optical power budget, 3-mode OLT optical module miniaturization and other key technology and engineering problems, but also actively promote the process of localization. In February this year, China Academy of Telecommunication Research based on the domestic 50G-PON industry development and application needs, for the first time in ITU-T uplink convergence to 25G/50G uplink dual-rate reception capability. This test mainly verified the capability, and the throughput and business stability reached the expectation. In addition, the uplink optical power budget of most devices can reach the Class C+ level (32dB) at the asymmetric rate, laying the foundation for the subsequent 25G/50G dual rate to meet the Class C+ level. This test also validates the 50G-PON’s support for new business capabilities such as determinism.
The 50G-PON equipment tested this time is based on a new domestic hardware system, and the localization rate has generally reached more than 90%, and some manufacturers can reach 100%. China Academy of Telecommunication Research will continue to work with partners to promote the localization and autonomous control of the 50G-PON end-to-end industrial chain, solve the key technologies and engineering capabilities required for large-scale commercial use, carry out 50G-PON field trials for various business scenarios, and meet the future access bearing needs of ten gigabit ultra-wide intelligent applications.
